Second and more to go

If you are a beginner, the next thing you need to do is to make sure that you are prepared to care for your rabbit through a long term. Easy way to find out how, just GOOGLE. Its all in there, right at the tip of your finger.

More tips from us this time,

When you choose a rabbit, or you want to buy one, be sure to get a healthy rabbit. This can save you from future heartache. hehe. Trust us, you dont want to have that heartache!

How can you tell if the rabbit is healthy?

1. Careful look at the rabbit if there are any obvious signs of illness or other issues. Touch the body and feel if there are any broken bones or other flaws. Is it a doe? or a buck?

2. Ask the seller how has the rabbit been. Does he eat and drink well? Is he playful? Point is, get to know the rabbit's personality.

3. And another important thing is, ask how old is the rabbit. This can help you A LOT once the rabbit is under your care. It can help you decide what and how much food to be given. is it ready to be mated, bla bla bla. hehe.

Just remember, do not hesitate to ask the seller as much questions as you like. Get all your doubts cleared out. hehe. Okay? And read. read. read. Do a lot of reading. from the internet, books, or wherever ;)

So now, back to my story from previous post, weeks after we had guppa, Eyai brought me a surprise, right after he got back from the offshore. He came at my door with a rabbit, just the size of his palm and that rabbit was officially our second. He named him, Gucci :)

Gucci is a very funny and adorable rabbit. He's very pampered and easy to handle. He loves to be hold and understands when you called his name (most of the time). He is definitely my personal favorite. haha :D

Perfect home for rabbit

Rabbit. Rabbit. Rabbit.

Rabbit came about after few unsuccessful attempts of having pets around. haha. First we had fighting fish, which later you-know-what. Then we had 2 pig-nosed turtles and something really sad happened to them. Next was... a reptile. haha. Telupa apa namanya. and that only lasted few days.

Little did I know that my darling, Eyai, had a rabbit before. He has been in love with rabbits long before I knew him. And I, fury animals had never been in my list. How ironic. hehe ;p So okay, back to square one.

One fine day, sister N decided to give us one of her rabbits' baby. We picked the baby up at her place and we named it, Guppa, for no particular reason. hehehe. Guppa; Our very first rabbit.

Next thing we did, we bought her a small cage, food (Versele Laga), a drinking bottle and bedding.

So our first tip of geting a rabbit, make sure all the above things are ready. Make sure you have the time and money too. very very important. hehe. Other than that, unconditional love and care would make a perfect home for rabbit.

Beautiful beginning :)

Alhamdulillah. Finally, on December 29th 2010 marks the 'announcement' of Arnab Kami's blogspot. Just days before the New Year's Eve 2011.

We'd say, coming to the end of the year equals to the beginning of our blog journey :)

This blog was created as a way for us to talk about the happenings around our small barn. Not to mention, all our rabbit friends seem to be doing it. So.. why not, folks? :p

Arnab Kami sites at Kg Mentiri. And incase you're wondering, "kami" is represented by me myself, A (name meant to be disclosed, hehe) and my other half cum my fiance, Eyai :) All sellings, buyings, etc etc etc are officially dealt by him.

After almost a year of observing and learning and rearing and discovering, Arnab Kami had begun. Currently we have 4 breeds in our herd; Local rabbits, lionheads, anggoras and woody toys. Syukran syukran :)

Guppa (local) was our first doe. She was given by a sister, N. And now we have 16 rabbits and counting, in our barn. Weheee ;)

So thats it for our first official post. I'll leave for another day how we came about our interest on rabbits and soon you'll find out more of our rabbits, our barn, care, pictures and everything else. Cheers!

And thank you for reading :D
